As the Prince was about to turn 5, this time Mom wanted to do something different from the last 2 years which was celebrated at home.
She wanted to do it outside and in a grand scale. The food was always North Indian dishes with Sweets and so she got bored with that same choice of food. She wanted something different. Kids when they grow up they get addicted to Burgers and Pizzas. So were we, including adults as there were not much options, especially for vegetarians. Only one type of Veg Burger or Pizza. We had seen a couple of Burger parties at McDonald’s. However, the size and scale was quite limited and we had large no. of friends. We did not want it to be only a Kitty party as we always invited the whole family in the Celebration. The next best option was Pizza and we had to scout for a suitable location which could accommodate our entire set of friends group. Location has to be booked at least a month in advance as it gets blocked quickly. We actually wanted to book one by the seaside but dates were not available, even a week before or after his birthday. Hence, we finally settled with the one in Salmiya which was spacious and located inside a small mall.
Prior to the party, we went to the studio and clicked some photos for remembrance.
As usual, Vidya shopped exclusively for Anirud to be at his best with a coat this time. She looked in her gorgeous best with her new salwar from Mumbai. And I was in my own casual formal attire. My heart was filled with pride to see the two eyes of my life charming and dazzling as ever.
Pizza Hut was quite famous and it was part of Al Homaizi Franchise group with whom I was employed at that time. I think I called someone to negotiate for employee discount and for some focused attention. We booked it for 11th May as it was a Saturday evening. Menu options were discussed and finalized by Vidya and myself. The staff also helped in organizing games for kids and adults and brought in a Magician for the children. It kept the various parties involved and interested through the party. Everyone came decked up in their best outfits and had a gala time. It was one of the coolest birthday celebrations as everyone chilled out in their own space with friends and enjoyed Pizzas, Pastas, Macaroni, Garlic Breads and drinks.
As I worked for Multitrend a Retail division of Al Homaizi Group, I asked one of the Marketing person to design a card for his birthday. He created one with the super heroes including Toy story and Sponge bob. That was beautiful indeed and everyone was surprised to see such a lovey birthday card and wrote their loving wishes for the kid etching some fabulous memories to last a lifetime.
It did not end with that….as celebration continued to School as well….12th May fell on Sunday which was the first day of the week in Kuwait. Therefore, we ordered another special cake to be cut in front of his school friends as well. Those were the days….of pure celebration and exhilaration….every moment had to be cherished, treasured and enjoyed….
