Planning a trip with such a large gathering requires tenuous efforts. I am certainly not game for such kind of activities. I just become the financier. All that coordination activity of finding out who is in and who is out….booking vehicles becomes the headache of Vidya. As regards booking a place in Tirupathi for stay, My FIL takes care of that through his contacts in Ahobila Madam. Tickets were arranged through someone by my FIL at that time. My MIL worked overtime to prepare breakfast and other items as we usually start early in the day. She loves to do these without showing any amount of weariness. Though, later on it does take a toll on her health, when it comes to family gatherings, she forgets her own health.
We usually visit Thayar Sannadhi before proceeding to Mel Tirupathi (Seven hills).
Mom and Dad did not accompany us as Mom suffered from knee pain and she cannot stand or walk for a longer period of time. Therefore they skipped the event. Sridhar could not join us as he was busy with his office work.
We left on 3rd May…it was Cheena and Roshini’s wedding anniversary. As usual in the hullaballoo of preparations, we forgot to wish the couple and Cheena takes these things quite seriously. I can fully understand the ramifications with a Scorpio around as my better half. The senior Scorpion sting is quite unbearable though not vicious. It is purely out of love and reciprocation thereof. With these people, you just cannot afford to forget such important dates. You will be reprimanded and reminisced for a lifetime for such a folly.
A visit to Tirupathi always brings back old memories of our visits during childhood or adolescence or as bachelors with friends and family. Tirupathi is not a place, it is an emotion. You really feel it within you when you visit the place. The whole place is surreal. It’s heaven like on earth. It’s pure devotion. From seeking the Lord’s blessings to savoring the Laddu’s and Prasadam’s it’s a heavenly delight.
I guess it was sometime during the day we went for the Darshan. It was crowded near the sanctum sanctorum and I carried Anirud on my shoulders so that he is not pushed and quashed….and yes…we had a good Darshan of Lord Balaji, the Almighty God. There were issues with one of the vehicle but somehow we huffed, puffed and managed to return back home safely and soundly. A major event completed without any issues or hiccups.
