Walking alone all around the city when it sleeps but the lights keep it awake would seem adventurous but also dangerous. How safe is your city or town to go around late in the night. I am not here asking for votes to determine which is the safest city, town or village in planet earth. What makes a place dangerous is the lack of something. It’s again back to basics of life. Food, water, clothing, shelter and reasonable amount of money for sustainable living. In addition a culture of peace and harmony where diverse set of people can live together without any acrimonious feelings. If the government can provide this or at least facilitate creation of these amenities then people can have a good lifestyle.
It’s not always dangerous in all the places but there are certain alleys where it’s dark and dingy with shadowy elements looming around in the background for a victim. We don’t live in a world where there are Marvel or DC characters to come out of nowhere and save the lives of innocent people. It doesn’t happen in reality. Though many of us wish that there are some super hero or heroine characters that can come alive to fight all the injustice in this world. Wishful thinking indeed. It’s normal to think that way because of so much injustice happening all around us and we feel absolutely incapable of stemming the rot. We roar with acceptance when we see vigilante justices in movies etc. We feel a vicarious pleasure out of that since we cannot do that in a normal life. That’s how corruption, deceit and greed has become entrenched everywhere in our daily lives we simply choose to live with it as if it is normal. A tragedy indeed. That’s why we approve of vigilantes or rebels who fight for the rights of common man as we feel it’s required as travesty of justice that has gone rogue.
If it’s not so safe for men to venture out by walk how safe can it be for women. As mentioned unless we provision for adequate living spaces for all with all basic amenities there’s always a possibility of something untoward to happen. Even if you provide everything there’s always a possibility of crime but the exceptions would be a rare event. Let’s make the world around us a better place with our limited contributions as every drop will result in the culmination of an ocean that is clean and pure.
