little things in life

The days we spent climbing trees, throwing stones or using sticks to pluck mangoes and other fruits from trees, cycling like crazy as if it was a superbike (without the fancy and sleek ones we have today) without any guards and helmets….tripping and screeching on the road damaging the knees and palms on mud paved or tarmac roads….eating by the roadside shops, going by the crowded buses and trains without a whimper….playing in the mid summer April and May heat when the Sun is at its peak, sweat dripping all over from forehead to toes….my generation, we were truly on the road when we had our holidays….coz there were no gadgets at home as in today….so all you had to do was to catch some friends on the street or even across streets and play on….until end of day when parents yelled and called you back home….we enjoyed it though…playing with stones, rubber balls and whatever else you could find that didn’t cost much money….coz….we didn’t have many….and so you shared what you had and played with what you could get….without asking for more….yet….we smiled, laughed, cried and rolled over together as one….coz, we never felt different from one another….nothing separated us….we were just friends having fun….
