This is with reference to the speech given by Charlie Chaplin in his movie “The Great Dictator”. It has great social relevance and truly, I was impressed seeing a moving, almost teary eyed, impassioned and imperious Charlie deliver it.
Very true and apt for today’s world and what’s happening around us…I guess this would be even more valid after a century as Men will be Men…acting as Dictators or as vicious self proclaimed leaders, who butcher the innocents in the name of God, Religion and whatever self created prophecies. These are the ones that Incite violence, bloodshed and hatred among fellow people who had lived with each others for centuries together but bay for blood as they blindly follow the so called butchers…without sense or purpose of life but sheer mayhem of all that’s a beautiful life…to make it wretched…raze everything to the ground and tower over the perils as if there is victory…over non existential life…as they are surrounded by nefarious evil mongers who seek only death and destruction…
In today’s context, we are all used as pawns through social media messaging and they psyche us all through constant barrage of video, audio clippings, images, posts, many fake news gets passed on as well which the gullible and honest individual consumes it truthfully believing it to be correct. It is a well orchestrated act with the help of various players and without bloodshed you take partisan views losing out all rationality by believing whatever news or information shared to you via social media is right and appropriate. On the contrary, it can be misleading and misguided…it all goes to prove that we as humans, need to have our own individuality to strip out the right from wrong without bias…and when I mean bias…without referencing it to caste, creed, color, religion, money, power, social status or any kind of authority that has no basis to be there in the first place…
Let us do the correct thing without leaning or tilting either left or right….stay balanced…as in a scale…easy to say or preach….difficult to adopt and quite impossible to implement…but there is no harm in trying…falling down, getting back on our feet….trying it again and again…until we reach the destination….where all are equals…
