It was a Saturday morning and Vidya wanted to go to LULU Hypermarket to purchase the groceries. We preferred these days to go to the new LULU at Querain since the Al Rai one was overly crowded and parking was also a complete mess due to the road repair work.
Momma looked in her stylish best wearing her new goggles while our little one was taking a liking to ride the car cum trolley available at the new Hypermarket.
One has to admit that in the retail format they do adopt innovative strategies and thinking to attract families with kids to do the shopping. Shopping made fun, enjoyable as you almost spend couple of hours when you have a long list of items to procure and have the time to waste, including money at the hyper market.
One such thing is the push cart that was modified to make the front portion as a car and to make it even more attractive for the kids, differentiate through pink, red, blue shades for boys and girls. Perhaps someone thought that if families had young kids they find it quite inconvenient to manage their kids as they invariably become restless after quite some time. And invariably, if you cut down on your shopping time, you lose out on opportune sales.
Think out of the box and convert the stale trolley into a push cart with a difference…a car…joy ride for the kids so that they don’t trouble their parents for a little bit more time and increase the spend for the family and revenue for the owner.
But when you go with friends and all of them have kids and you can find only one such trolley…boy the parents are in for trouble…any takers for this to arrive at a path breaking solution. Sure enough, there was a mad rush for such trolleys when it was first introduced…and people waited to get their hand on the trolleys…else the kids would not even budge to enter the shop…
We will surely give you a treat.
