It irked us to think and decide whether we need to send him off to playschool at such young age. He had not even turned two. We deliberated a lot and finally decided to take the plunge as unlike India, there are not many kids to play in his age group during weekdays nor was it viable for them to step out and play outside due to the extreme temperatures in Kuwait. So instead of keeping him at home, a couple of hours in a playschool with other kids and some kind of activities it would spur him to think and act differently was the conclusion. If you were in India, you would grow up with your grand parents, with easy access to neighbors kids, visits to and by relatives houses would give him that much needed exposure to the external world. Here, except for the weekends when I can drive them down, they were stuck at home from dawn to dusk. Also, as a homemaker she also needed some respite for a couple of hours at least. It was time to let go and also help him prepare for school and external environment which he has to face in a year’s time. We then searched for the nearby playschools, asked opinion of other parents who had sent their kids to various playschools and which one was best suited from their perspective. So finally, we decided to go with Sandra’s playschool and it turned out to be good for the kid and us as well….he especially loved Sandra’s brother who was called Sanjeev Bhai (used to draw quite well and was a favorite with the kids) drove the Pajero jeep in which he used to pick up the kids and the nurse Fathima in whose lap he used to sit….kids are attracted to some people naturally….
Dada’s smarty boy and Mama’s lovely boy getting all set to go to school. He was terrific in sleeveless tee and jean; oh I forgot to add with a cap as well. You know something; he’s got something special written in his tee, deep sea shark watch, and he loves fishes. I just wonder if one day he would become a marine biologist or an underwater adventurer, well only time would be able to tell regarding the outcome.
He’s just seen these real fishes in a couple of fish tanks at my friends place and also at hotels and he was fascinated by them. They are lovely creatures in myriad colors, sizes, shapes and contours.
This guy sure looked awesome and freakish in this outfit. It makes me wonder how I was in my childhood. These kids surely are exposed to a whole lot of things these days. Courtesy the financial capability of today’s generation vis-à-vis that of our previous generation and the rapid technological changes that is sweeping our lifestyle today. Should I say that my son is born with a silver spoon? It becomes a relative comparison and where does that end.
One thing that I will remember forever in my life is that our parents have taught us to be righteous, god fearing, and faithful, truthful, honest and loving souls. These virtues are invaluable and that’s what I would pass it on to my son. Luckily my spouse endorses and lives with these values in her daily life and she is the real driving force behind his nourishment and development. Women empower people and they truly drive development in every aspect of life. As mothers, spouse and in every other form they actually spread the wings of life, love and harmony in this earthen mass and beyond.
