These were exciting times for us. Parents ourselves, we brought our parents to be with us for a short period of time and enjoy with us in Kuwait. Especially since Anirud was a 3 month baby, Vidya definitely needed the help and guidance of elders in these critical times. After my parents returned from Kuwait to India on 10th Oct, it was time to take Vidya’s parents out to various places in Kuwait.

And we started with our first visit to Sharq mall. It was a Saturday and we left from our home at around 3.45 PM. It’s a lovely mall situated on the sea front. We went around various shops in the mall and then it was time to feed little Anirud. Vidya sat in a corner and fed this guy. He had to be fed every couple of hours. And from the beginning, he was quite finicky about food, milk. He was not used to bottle feed so she would have to use a spoon like contraption to put the milk and feed him. If we had to go somewhere, for more than couple of hours, then we had to carry all the required gadgets and food to feed the little one. We were there up to 8 PM and then left for our home.

The next visit was on a Wednesday evening after I came from office. We left to Alghanim Safat showroom which is the biggest one and is a must see on the list. Just as a pointer, the steel structure was built by Kirby which was managed by me at that point in time. It had all the 3 showrooms, automotive, electronics and home furnishing.

On Thursday evening, the weekend had begun for us. We had a long drive to Fahaheel, Al Kout piers cum mall. This is another beautiful piece situated again on the waterfront. These guys sure know how to enjoy their life and they are an endowed lot as well. Balu and Kalpana also accompanied us. There were lot of fun and laughter along with leg pulling whenever Balu is present on the occasion.

Wiki: The Kuwait Towers are a group of three slender towers in Kuwait City, standing on a promontory into the Persian Gulf. They were the sixth, and last, group in the larger Kuwait Water Towers system of 34 towers (33 store water; one stores equipment), and were built in a style considerably different from the other five groups. The Kuwait Towers were officially inaugurated in March 1979[2] and are regarded as a landmark and symbol of modern Kuwait.[3] The towers were closed for maintenance from March 2012 to 8 March 2016, with a massive fireworks festival commemorating the re-opening.[4] Kuwait Towers facility is operated and managed by the state-owned Touristic Enterprises Company.

Wiki: The main tower is 187 metres (614 ft) high and carries two spheres. The lower sphere holds in its bottom half a water tank of 4,500 cubic metres (1,200,000 US gal; 990,000 imp gal) and in its upper half there is a restaurant that accommodates 90 people, a café, a lounge and a reception hall. The upper sphere, which rises to 123 metres (404 ft) above sea level and completes a full turn every 30 minutes, holds a café. The second tower is 147 metres (482 ft) high and serves as a water tower. The third tower does not store water, housing equipment to illuminate the two larger towers. The two water towers hold 9,000 cubic metres (2,400,000 US gal; 2,000,000 imp gal) of water altogether

This was the last of the visits to the local attractions – The Aquarium at the Scientific Center. This is a nice place for those interested in knowing about the sea aquatic animals.
Wiki: The Scientific Center of Kuwait, located in Salmiya, Kuwait, serves as a center for environmental education in the Persian Gulf region. KSC spans over 80,000 square meters with the building covering over 18,000 square meters. The center also houses the largest aquarium in the Middle East after Dubai, holding over 100 different species of animals. Along with the aquarium, it also contains an IMAX theatre, a harbor of historic dhows, and a gift shop among other contents.
On 28th Oct we celebrate Deepavali in Kuwait with In laws in a traditional manner….
